Scout is the Two Dudes Photo crew's shared field guide: what the team has learned about the cities we work in. It is invitation only. If something is not working, email info@twodudesphoto.com and a real person will answer.
“Almost in” when I sign in
Scout only lets in email addresses on the team list, and the screen shows you which address you arrived with. Two things cause this. You may have signed in with an address we have not added yet, in which case send us that exact address and we will add it. Or you chose Hide My Email when signing in with Apple, which hands the app a private relay address instead of yours. Sign out, sign back in, and choose Share My Email, or use the email code option instead.
Notifications
Scout notifies you about two things and nothing else: someone replying to a tip you wrote, and a briefing a few days before a trip you are on. It never notifies the whole team every time anyone posts. If nothing is arriving, check Settings, then Scout, then Notifications on your phone.
Adding a tip
Open a city and tap Add. A tip is somewhere you have been. A lead is somewhere you have heard about but not tried, for whoever gets there next. A bounty is something you need that nobody has found yet, like a shop that sells seamless paper. You can also share a place straight from Google Maps into Scout using the iOS share sheet.
Changing your photo
Tap your picture in the top left of the home screen to open your field journal, then the pencil on your photo. You can pan and zoom to frame it before saving.
Deleting your account
In your field journal, scroll to the bottom and choose Delete my account. It takes effect immediately and removes your account, profile, photo, badges and notifications. Tips you wrote stay in the team's guide, credited to “Someone”. If you want those removed too, delete them before deleting your account, or ask us and we will handle it.
Privacy
What the app stores and why is on the Scout privacy policy page.
Still stuck
Email info@twodudesphoto.com with your phone model, your iOS version and what happened. Screenshots help.
