What is a color gel?
A gel is a piece of colored plastic that we put over our (white) lights to change their color. Nothing too crazy, but interesting things can happen when we start to mix those colors to create gradient backgrounds.
If you’re wondering what’s possible, we recommend taking your mind back on a trip back to kindergarten to explore the many combinations of primary colors - too many colors makes brown, but if you choose one or two great colors, they can blend together with the backdrop through the beautiful harmony of physics to make a unique and colorful background.
If you’re looking for something really artistic and avante-garde, we can even use the gels on the main portrait light to change the overall color tone of the entire portrait.
